Technology and innovation brought together to deliver drug development throughout Latin America
Eurolab was born to house Eurofarma's present and innovative future. The gigantic space of 21,170 m², built in the company's Itapevi Unit, is an ecosystem with infrastructure never seen before in the pharmaceutical industry - not only in Brazil, but in all of Latin America.
Eurolab goes into operation to strengthen the company's main strategy: innovation. Innovation that permeates the 13 goals of Vision 2022, two of which are directly linked to the development of new medications, an area in which Eurolab will provide a huge leap forward. The space has state-of-the-art laboratories and a mini factory for the production of medications for clinical trials.
invested in the construction of Eurolab
earmarked for R&D in 2020
Professionals dedicated to the development of new generic products, incremental and massive innovations
Goal of devoting of revenue to R&D by 2030
Eurolab's gigantic infrastructure allows all development stages of a new product, including a mini factory. Below are the main numbers:
The highlights include the Pre-formulation Laboratory and the Formulation Laboratory, equipped with cutting-edge technology for the development of solid, liquid, and semi-solid pharmaceutical forms.
28 rooms dedicated to formulation development. There are 800 m² devoted to the development of analytical methodologies.
Eurolab has hundreds of chromatography devices and 12 synthesis hoods.
Eurolab has a scaling factory, a small-sized copy of the industrial plant. Thus, it is no longer necessary to interrupt a production line to do tests. The mini factory will be certified and can produce batches for clinical trials.
Eurolab is home to Latin America's largest organic synthesis laboratory, dedicated to small original molecules.
Analytical park in which physicians can contribute in the search for optimal treatment for everyday problems;
500+ professionals
Created in 2014, Eurofarma's Radical Innovation Center now has an exclusive area to tackle revolutionary innovative drug development projects to treat pathologies such as pain, infection, obesity, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, as well as projects focused on neglected diseases. Below are the main highlights:
The entire team of chemists and pharmacologists are PhDs with postdoctoral studies
120 m² dedicated to the synthesis of new molecules. 12 hoods, two for scaling up to 1 kg of drugs
The team of scientists leads the company's cutting-edge projects, such as the partnership with Cyclica, which uses artificial intelligence and computational biophysics in the process of discovering new drugs
A thousand molecules already designed and obtained for projects aimed at discovering new antimicrobials and drugs for treating pain, depression, and leishmaniasis

Eurolab is one of the largest pharmaceutical innovation centers in Latin America. The space was designed to integrate all areas of Innovation and also to reflect Eurofarma's vision of sustainability.
Reduction of up to 90% in the refrigeration system consumption, compared to traditional systems.
Toilets have vacuum technology, consuming only 1 liter of water per flush. The traditional method consumes 10 liters.
The building's lighting is 100% made with LED technology, thus saving power.
